This place just keeps going downhill over the years especially since Nystrom took over. The better therapists have left then you get paired up with someone new and fresh out of graduating who has minimal engagement in the session and has no response to trauma after you tell them what you’ve been through, and just has a look on their face as if “you went through that?” Every time I call in it goes to someone in the Madison office who are clueless and they have absolutely no idea who the therapists are for Eau Claire. Had problems with nystrom. They didn't give you all the paperwork to fill out right away and after my first initial appointment with a therapist , I had to see a new after my first appointment. Then after that they kept on canceling on me. So I would void them like the plague. Seems like they don't really care for your mental health very much. Also, I was told they only had one therapist that did it in person and rest by Tele health. Which I don't mind Tele health appointments, but actually all do them with patients instead ... read more

I have been a patient for 3-4 different therapists here. the first was pretty focused on her eastern beliefs and spent about as much time talking as I did. the second and third were inexperienced and still getting their footing. I recently tried to schedule an appointment with the fourth, but due to missing the intake appointment they decided to cancel all the appointments I had booked out. I have had therapy on and off since the age of 5 and have experienced many therapists and psychiatrists. My experience at vantage point wasnt awful in any way but it was highly disorganized and lacks experience. The staff is kind but mostly too young and still "navigating" being a proper counsel. My sessions where always sit down, answer a few questions and silence. It was less interactive than any sessions i have had previously in life. I have gone to this clinic for 4/5 years, and have seen 3 different therapists. The most recent one I had, was the reason I left the clinic. I don't doubt that he had good intentions, but I would find some of his comments inappropriate even if it were just a casual conversation with a friend. He frequently would interject personal stories that he sometimes admitted had nothing to do with what I was talking about- rather, about his own personal development.
