I visited DR Cashen in January of 2020 about my hip. He spent a LOT of time going over my hip pain and issues going back decades, yes decades! I had hip pain so bad I couldn't walk thru the grocery store any longer. Any way we agreed to do a total hip replacement. Dr. Otte performed a total shoulder replacement on my right shoulder after I suffered for months with horrible pain and virtually no use of my right arm. I cannot begin to praise him enough for his accomplishments! He gave me recommendations for an ice machine and for Coastal Physical Therapy. I followed his advice and can honestly say after the first week after surgery I had absolutely no pain! I have fully recovered and have full use of my shoulder and arm. I highly recommend Dr. Otte for your shoulder repair!

I was fortunate to have found Dr. Otte at Coastal Orthopedics in Lakewood Ranch, after I had a traumatic fall in early spring, severely fracturing my shoulder, and needed an emergency shoulder replacement. Dr. Otte did surgery to repair the rotator cuff in my shoulder and the results were excellent. When I first went to see him he did a thorough exam and diagnosed the problem but we decided to try physical therapy for a few months to make sure that surgery was necessary. I was very pleased with the surgery and had very little pain during the recovery. I was almost fully recovered after 16 weeks of physical therapy. Dr. Otte and his staff supported me and were very responsive to my needs through the whole process.

Dr. Ottaviani, was very kind, gentle and professional performing my EMG test. She explained everything before and as she was dinging the test, so l knew what to expect at all times. She also let me know that l have a possible shoulder problem that l should get checked too. Simple things first!

Over the past ten years, Dr. Kumar has repaired my right shoulder rotator cuff and performed a total replacement on my left shoulder. In both cases, my recovery has been excellent with full use of both joints by carefully following Dr. Kumar's protocol and working with the excellent physical therapists. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Dr. Otte is a caring physician who explains things well, and listens to his patients, and answers questions clearly. His staff is very supportive. My whole experience with reverse shoulder replacement was positive from first visit to my one-year follow-up, where I could truly say I had forgotten about the surgery, was pain-free after years of discomfort, and enjoying the use of my arm again.
